Idea description:

Bratislava has several ‘specific’ features. The fact that the St. Martin’s Dome, a historical landmark of the city, touches a highly frequented four-lane highway at its south-western facade, is surely one of them. The contact is direct, so if you find your way here on a romantic walk or a tourist trip in the shadow of a gothic cathedral, or if you believe in God and you‘ve come to find a place for spiritual contemplation, you will find a place with an atmosphere similar to that of a motorway gas station. My intervention is aimed at the building of a conventional motorway noise barrier made of glass up to the height of 3.5 metres in the section running from Bibiana to the castle walls – maybe even permanently, unless the location soon undergoes the fundamental architectonic revisions planned in for the future. This should help us to achieve at least a partial intimacy within the existing conditions.
